A liferaft aboard Hotspur IV [Hythe Ferry] managed somehow to deploy and here she crosses Southampton Water [14:43] on her way from Hythe Pier to Empress Dock for it to be replaced 12 Jun 2008	QE2 & QM2 Models within QEII Terminal 12 Jun 2008
Saga Rose alongside berth 101 the day after a crew member died in the ballast tanks. Another was taken to hopital, later rejoined the ship. Rotterdam Approaches there are 3 main anchorages for vessels awaiting a berth at Rotterdam. Over 46 were around & about as we sailed through around 9am, a few underway to their docks 13 Jun 2008	Port of Rotterdam Part 1 - Views and all types of vessels along the Nieuwe Waterweg [New Waterway] & Nieuwe Maas [New Maas] as far as the Vulkaanhaven Norfolkline Terminal at Vlaardingen 13 Jun 2008

A walk alongside the Haven Museum; numerous functional steam tugs, cranes, boats & even a train, before entering the Maritime Museum followed by visiting Buffel, a former naval ship 1868 13 Jun 2008	Sail away from Rotterdam 18:00 aboard ms Boudicca. St Peter Port 14 June 2008
Transocean Tours' Marco Polo at anchor off St Peter Port as we arrive aboard Boudicca 13.00; 14 Jun 2008. We were due to arrive at 12:00 & she was due to depart at 13:00 - we were both an hour late	Marco Polo at anchor off St Peter Port taken from Boudicca's tender 13.40; 14 Jun 2008. By the time we emerged from the harbour aboard Trident VI to Herm, she was well on her way 14 Jun 2008
Marco Polo departed St Peter Port, Guernsey as we waited for Herm Island 14.10. However we did see her in the distance & sail behind Jethou appearing the other side as we crossed to Herm 14 Jun 2008	Herm Island is 3 miles from the coast of Guernsey, We took the Trident Travel, Trident V ferry to & from Herm. A 20 minute trip with great photo ops of any ship at anchor... 14 Jun 2008

For anyone interested in the History of Fred. Olsen Lines look no further than Anthony Cooke's "The Fred. Olsen Line and its Passenger Ships" (Dec2007). A comprehensive history, well illustrated, of the many passenger vessels, cruise ships along with the ferries & cargo liners, owned by the company since 1848. Pictures of many of these ships adorn the bulkheads of Balmoral, more specifically in the Morning Light Pub [named after Olsen's largest sailing vessel] & Card Room. The Olsen Figureheads/Gallionsfigurer have a chapter to themselves. Practically every Olsen ship from BAYARD 1936 to BLENHEIM 1970 had a bronze figurehead or bow decoration; many of which were removed & saved from the ships when sold on or scrapped, with one even salvaged from a wreck. Some of these are displayed aboard the current cruise ships, Black Prince, Black Watch, Boudicca, Braemar & Balmoral, others are in Scotland, England, Norway & on La Gomera.
